Foothill Groups Welcome New Quilters, Fabric Donations

Other area quilting groups sew and stitch for charity. Like Quilts of Honor (click here for story), they also welcome fabric donations.


Pine Needlers, Groveland: Donates pillowcases to the Tuolumne Trails handicapped camp, quilts to Wounded Warriors and to law enforcement for children taken from abusive homes. Wina, 962-6534,

Sierra Quilt Guild, Sonora: Makes and donates quilts to 16 local agencies and charities;

The Comfort Project, Sonora: Has created tens of thousands of quilts, blankets, pillowcases, caps and more for ill and disadvantaged individuals. Rocky, 532-2290, 743-7784.


Oakdale Quilters Guild, Oakdale: Makes quilts, pillowcases and more for elders at a local care center, patriotic squares for Quilts of Honor, and other charitable causes. Cora, 918-6220,


Independence Hall Quilters, Arnold: Gives more than 150 quilts yearly to children, hospital patients, care homes and charities;

Loose Threads Quilt Guild, Valley Springs: Makes cuddle quilts, blankets, caps and more for hospitalized
children, the elderly and others. Debbie, 609-6187.


Mother Lode Quilters Guild, Sutter Creek: Makes and donates quilts to a pregnancy center, a local
nursing home, and to law enforcement for children taken from abusive homes. Annalee, 296-7059,

Sierra Gold Quilt Guild, Pine Grove: Makes quilts for nursing homes, stockings for low-income families and caps for cancer patients. Janis, 296-3628,
