London

By Ross Anderson

If tomorrow

your heart is taken

fall—

falling fearless

blood and bone

on Gloucester Road

and if

your heart be broken

you’ve lived

as no one has

and if

enduring bonds not break

on reaching eighty

your dreams will be as twenty
