Guide Dogs for the Blind San Rafael-based nonprofit provides guide dogs, transportation to campus, two-week classes and more at no cost to students. 1-800-295-4050, guidedogs.com.

Hadley Institute for the Blind and Visually Impaired Illinois-based nonprofit offers free distance education and online courses  to blind or visually impaired students and their families. Programs include Adult Continuing Education, High School, and Family Education. Website offers extensive supplemental educational materials and resources and a comprehensive Web Directory of agencies, educational institutions and others that serve those with visual impairments and blindness. 1-800-323-4238, hadley.edu.
